Why June Sucked and Why July Will Rock

JUNE:

So I’ve started some fun new projects. Some took up a huge amount of time, other were more passive.

FIRST OFF a few friends and I are doing a sketch comedy show on WMTV ,William and Mary’s television network. I spent most of June churning out scripts for this undertaking. You’ll here much more about this as it develops. Here are some links to see the previous stuff we’ve done and here’s a link to the stuff I’ve personally done . We’re aiming for around seventy sketches.

SECONDLY I’m writing a Novel. I’m 10,000 words in, and I spent a lot of June planning it out.

THIRD I’m doing two research projects. For one of them, you can find the (mandatory) blog I have to contribute to here and then my stuff isolated on this page . The other one does not have a online home yet, but I’ll let you know.

FOURTHLY  I’m putting together a photoblog with one of the other members of Numlock about something cool at William and Mary.

ALSO I’ve been plotting out the store. I’ve got about ten potential T-Shirt designs that i’m developing. You’ll hear about these soon.

FINALLY I’ve been watching a shit ton of Keyboard Cat . Never gets old.

Feedback Drive Findings

AWESOME. FEEDBACK DRIVE A SUCCESS.

Here’s what I learned.

So people like the ink and pen comics. To be honest I did too. They were faster to production and ended up looking sharper then the all digital ones. People, however, like the color, and so do I. So over the next little while I will be messing around with a fusion thing going on. It’s excitement.

People like the graphs and flowcharts. I got worried for a while that the format was tired and beaten to death, but in many cases responders enjoyed them just as much as the illustrated ones. I received one email that liked Author week a lot, and I remember that that was really fun to draw and do so hey we might see another one of those stylistically coming up.

Most people who responded knew me personally, tangentially, or in some way, but there were actually a few who did not. I still consider this a success. I also found, interestingly enough, people who visit the site who I have not heard from in a while. If you may be one of those cases, feel free to email me more!

People are fans of JT, Wordsmith, and Me. Sweet, that works out, because they are the people who write for the site still.  Also, heads up, Guest comic approaching. More on this as it develops.

Some people were unhappy about June. Also the whole failure to update thing. Yeah. I feel really bad about that. Legitimately. I’ll have a upcoming post explaining myself.

Generally people are Pro new layout, which is good, because Alex rocks. His email is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . You should email him if you want a website. Stylistically, the biggest critiques of the website itself were in some of the design elements which now that they’re pointed out I don’t like either. Will change.

In regards to a store, people basically want a shirt for less then 15 dollars that is good quality, not that café press bullcrap. I agree, and I’ll passively get on this.

I have drawn 5 comics and a cartoony friend of mine recently agreed to guest comic. Plus I have a new blog entry.

Finally, email me if you have further feedback. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

IMPORTANT STUFF!
HEY!

This is sort of just checking in with our audience and trying to get some feedback on the site. You're a small enough audience that your individual participation means you get a loud voice, but a large enough one that we can see a big picture about who are audience is and where we're going to go with the website. Basically, I have  a lot of different directions i'm considering going at this point and I figure I'll ask you guys first. So,

(1) Stuff about You: Who are you? Where are you from? How did you find the site? Do we know eachother personally?
(2) Stuff about the Site: What do you think of this layout as compared to the previous layout? What would you like to see in future additions to the site? Do you prefer any authors, like to see more from any of them?
(3) Stuff about Me: What do you think of the direction the comic is taking? Do you have any recent (or older) comics you've enjoyed specifically?
(4) Stuff about You, Me and the Site: I'm working on a store. What sort of items would you like to see in the store? Would you ever buy something from the store? What is a fair price for a T-Shirt you you buy? What content would you buy on a T Shirt? Any specific comics?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE submit your answers to me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

This is incredibly helpful. You don't have to answer all the questions, but the site is about 18 months old and I'm looking to keep the momentum going.

Thanks again. Alex gave me the site data, and we do get several dozen unique hits a day, so I know you're out there.
